How to Make and Send Large Travel Video Files

Is everybody tired of your telling stories about your last trip? Stop telling about it, show it! Yes, this article is about a few simple tips to help you make a great travel video and send large video files to your friends.

FPS & Frame Rate

First of all, your video has to look professional. No, it’s not about you taking the time to learn filming skills, but about the frame rate. Choosing the right one will definitely help you avoid blurring when any kind of movement takes place.

24 fps is the usual standard, but when you film motion, it just doesn’t look very good. The definite advantage of using this frame rate is the minimum file size, so that you don’t have to think of any extra storage devices to take with you.

But to make your video look like a really professional one, think 60 fps. Of course, a standard phone storage card will most likely not be enough and it will require that you take an additional storage card/device with you. But the good news is that you don’t have to wreck your brain thinking how to send large video files to your friends, FileWhopper specializes in big file transfer and will help you send large video files in minutes.

60 FPS is Perfect for Travel Video

Most likely, you don’t even have to buy a special camera, as most modern phones have the 60 fps filming option. Just look in your settings and turn it on, you’ll see the difference momentarily.

Storage issues

As we mentioned earlier, the only thing about 60 fps videos is that storing and transferring them to another device may take you some efforts. While the usual extra flash or hard drive may help you solve the problem with storage, you will likely need to transfer all your videos to your computer to cut and combine them into a movie. This is where FileWhopper comes in handy, as it makes transferring files as easy as filming. Don’t worry about the total size of all your videos, as you can transfer big files and folders of any size with FileWhopper and it will not take forever.

1 minute video size

Usually the size of a 1 minute video depend on the fps + resolution and is about:

  • 60 MB: 720p HD at 30fps
  • 130 MB: 1080 HD at 30fps
  • 200 MB: 1080 HD at 60 fps
  • 375 MB: 4k at 60 fps

Of course a 4k video at 60 fps looks like a cinema-quality movie, so if your camera is okay with this option… why not? Since large file transfer is not a problem anymore, it’s worth at least a try.

Choose your style

Once you are done figuring out all the technical matters, it’s time to think about your very special style of filming and editing. It can be something funny or extreme. Use your skills and imagination.

Filming a landscape

Statistically, the most watched and popular travel movies on Youtube are the beautiful landscape video clips. Sure, it takes more time and hard work, and you’re more likely to fail for the first time, but it’s worth improving your skills. Since you already know how to store and transfer large video files, you can keep trying and then transfer your videos to PC to check how good they turned out.

Don’t forget about the music

Music is the last, but far not the least in the success of your travel video. Choosing the right song or instrumental composition may take you even more time than the editing itself. However, we have a special trick that will help you to reduce this time dramatically:

The FMA Archive is a store of dozens compositions that you can grab for personal usage for free.

So start shooting your videos and sharing them with the world right now!
